Goofy Fundraiser!
Mr. Anderer and Mr. Kovatch have both decided to do a goofy fundraiser which hopefully will be fun for the boys, and help us raise needed funds for the pack. Both leaders will dye their hair a funny color for the Blue and Gold Banquet, if each receive $500 in donations before then.

Pinewood Derby
Pack 95's annual Pinewood Derby will be Saturday, January 26 starting at 8:30am.
This year, we are doing the Pinewood Derby all on our own! We will be doing family races as well! The cubs race for free. Family members will be charged an entry fee to defray the cost of the car kit and the awards from the derby.
We will have the following divisions:
Cub Scouts (Tigers, Wolves and Bears race as one division this year) - no entrance fee
Webelos - no entrance fee
Siblings aged 11 and younger - $6 entrance fee
Adults and siblings aged 12 and over - $10 entrance fee
In the end, the Cub Scout Division winner will race against the Webelos Division winner to crown a pack winner who will race against Pack 1509's winner for the coveted Ol' Murph.
The pack winner will also race the winner of the sibling and adult division for bragging rights.
Families will be asked to sign-up to bring breakfast items to share. We are not going to sell concessions as a fund raiser, but instead share breakfast items and ask if families wish to donate of their own free will to defray the cost of awards.
Sign-up Items:
Milk
Orange Juice
Coffee/Tea
Muffins
Bagels
Other Breakfast Pastries
Sign-up will be through the Pack's Facebook Page.
We are asking for adult volunteers to show up Friday night to set-up the track and to stay Saturday after the derby to pack up and clean up.

Pack 95 to Visit George Mason Men's Basketball!
On Saturday, January 19, 2013, Pack 95 will be going to see George Mason play Hofstra at 5:00pm at the Patriot Center. Tickets are $16.30 each. But, we can get a group rate of $10 if 20 or more of us attend. But, watch this space. Mr. Anderer and Mr. Kovatch will be soon announcing a fund raiser which, if successful, could fund our trip to the game!
Holiday Party!
Pack 95's Holiday Party will be Saturday, December 8th starting at 6:00pm. We will be holding the party at Bethany Lutheran Church. Have you been good? Look for a special guest that evening!
We are asking families to bring a dessert to share.
Each den will be asked to lead us in two holiday songs.
This will be the boys' chance to vote on the theme for the annual Blue and Gold Banquet, and the follow-up trip in March. Here are the proposed themes:
Anchors Away! Everything about the Sea, with a follow-up trip to our nation's Naval Academy in Annapolis.
Jurassic Party! Dinosaurs, with a follow-up trip to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.
These Aren't the Droids You're Looking For. Robots, with a follow-up trip to the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore.
We will have boxes representing each theme. Each boy will get a piece of candy, and will vote by placing that piece of candy in the box.

Family Fest at Bethany Lutheran Church
We've been invited to participate in Bethany Lutheran Church's Family Fest on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Family Fest is a barbecue celebration that follows the one service on Reformation Sunday. I've told the organizers that after enjoying the event, our boys would be willing to stay a little after to pick up litter. This is a good opportunity to do a little service for our charter organization and get some visibility for the pack.
The worship service starts at 10:00am. Family Fest is slated to start around 11:00. Please come, enjoy and have the boys wear uniforms.
Bethany is located at 2501 Beacon Hill Road, Alexandria, VA 22306.
